R.I. Gen. Laws § 44-5-46 — Severability

If any clause, sentence, paragraph, or part of this chapter shall for any reason is
judged invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, the judgment shall not affect,
impair, or invalidate the remainder of the chapter but shall be confined in its operation
to the clause, sentence, paragraph, or part of the chapter directly involved in the
controversy in which judgment has been rendered.
