Executive director

# (a)

Appointment. The commission shall appoint an executive director of the state racing division who shall be a resident of the state at the time of and during the full term of his employment.

# (b)

Racing division. The racing division of the commission shall encompass the thoroughbred racing, harness racing, greyhound racing and jai alai sections.

# (c)

Powers. The director shall have the power, and it shall be his duty to:

# (1)

Administer and coordinate the operation of the racing division in accordance with the provisions of the act and with the rules and regulations of the commission.

# (2)

Maintain full and complete records of the operation of the racing division.
These records shall be open to the public as provided in section 1-19 of the 1969 supplement to the general statutes.

# (3)

Report on a regular basis to the executive secretary on the status of the racing division.

# (4)

Perform those functions assigned to him by the executive secretary.
