R.I. Gen. Laws § 44-9-41 — Notice of petition to establish title
Upon the filing of the petition, the petitioner shall notify all interested persons
of the pendency of the petition, the notice to be sent to each interested person by
registered or certified mail and the return of receipt to be required. Other and further
notice by publication or otherwise shall be given as the court may at any time order.
The notice, to be addressed âTo all whom it may concern,â shall contain the name of
the petitioner, the names of all respondents named in the petition, the description
of the land, and a statement of the nature of the petition, shall fix the time when
appearance may be entered, and shall contain a statement that unless the notified
persons shall appear within the fixed time, they shall forever be barred from having
or enforcing any adverse claim or claims to the petitioner, his or her heirs or assigns,
in the described land.
