Trip permits

Sec. 4. (a) In lieu of obtaining an annual permit and paying the taxes imposed under IC 6-6-4.1, a motor carrier may obtain a
trip permit from the department authorizing the carrier to operate a commercial motor vehicle for a period of five (5) consecutive days.
(b) A separate trip permit is required for each commercial motor vehicle operated by a carrier.
(c) The fee for a trip permit is fifty dollars ($50).
