Supplemental Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica to the Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica to Improve International Tax Compliance and to Implement FATCA. done at San Jose on November 26. 2013 Whereas, the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic agreement to the Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Costa Rica to Improve International Tax Compliance and to Implement FATCA. done at San Jose on November 26, 2013 (hereinafter referred to respectively as "the Supplemental Agreement" and "the Agreement"):
The Parties have agreed as follows: -.
Notwithstanding Paragraph 10 of Article 3 of the Agreement, the. Agreement shall not terminate as stated in that Paragraph.
However, the Agreement shall terminate 12. months following its entry into force if Article 2 of the Agreement is not in effect for either Party pursuant to paragraph 9 of Article 3 of the Agreement by that date.
The Supplemental Agreement shall enter into force on the last date of its signature by the Parties.
In witness whereof, the undersigned, being duly authorized thereto by their respective Governments, have signed this Supplemental Agreement.

Acuerdo complementario entre el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America el Gobierno de la Republica de Costa Rica al Acuerdo entre el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America y el Gobierno de la Republica de Costa Rica para mejorar el cumplimiento fiscal internacional y para implementar FATCA. suscrito en San José el 26 de noviembre de 2013 Considerando que el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de América y el Gobierno de la Republica de Costa Rica (cada una de las cuales es una "Parte" y en conjunto las "Partes") desean suscribir un acuerdo complementario al Acuerdo entre el Gobierno de la Republica de Costa Rica y el Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de America para mejorar el cumplimiento fiscal internacional y para implementar FATCA, suscrito en San Jose el 26 de noviembre de 2013 (en adelante denominados respectivamente como "el Acuerdo Suplementario" y "el Acuerdo");
Las Partes han acordado lo siguiente:
No obstante lo dispuesto en el parrafo 10 del articulo 3 del Acuerdo. el Acuerdo no se terminara tal como se establece en ese parrafo.
Sin embargo, el Acuerdo se terminara l2 meses después de su entrada en vigencia si el articulo 2 del Acuerdo no esta en vigor para cualquiera de las Partes, de conformidad con el parrafo 9 del articulo 3 del Acuerdo, para esa fecha.
El Acuerdo complementario entrara en vigor en la ultima fecha de su firma por las Partes.
En fe de lo cual, los abajo firmantes, debidamente autorizados por sus respectivos Gobiernos, han firmado este Acuerdo Complementario.
Hecho en San Jose el dia 20 de marzo de 2019, en duplicado, en idioma ingles y espanol.
