Procedure for adoption of official map

# (a)

At the time of the presentation of the proposed official map or amendments thereto, an ordinance shall be introduced into the County Council for adoption of such map or amendment thereto.

# (b)

Not less than 30 days prior to the adoption of the ordinance, the County Council shall have given notice to the owner of any property affected by any line of a proposed street or any change in the line of any existing street. Such notice shall be by registered mail to the owner of record at the owner’s last known address and by publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the County.

# (c)

Prior to the adoption of the official map, the County Council shall advise the Department of Transportation of any proposed new street, or of the proposed change in the lines of any existing street. The County Council shall not proceed with the adoption of the ordinance until the Department has approved the proposed new street, or changes in the lines in existing streets, provided that the approval of the Department shall be presumed should the County Council have received no communication to the contrary within 30 days of submission of the proposed new street or change in the lines of existing streets, to the Department.
