Grants to Nonprofit Child Care Providers
# (a)
The Department of Human Resources may make grants to nonprofit child care providers as provided in this section.
# (b)
The Department of Human Resources may establish priorities, guidelines, standards, and processes by which grants may be awarded.
# (c)
The Department of Human Resources shall require interested nonprofit child care providers to complete applications on forms issued by the Department of Human Resources which shall include at least the following:
# (1)
Child care provider ID.
# (2)
Licensee’s name.
# (3)
License number.
# (4)
Verification of nonprofit status.
# (5)
A certification from the applicant nonprofit child care provider that will comply with any rules adopted by the Department of Human Resources related to the grant.
# (d)
Failure to provide the information required by the Department of Human Resources may result in the automatic denial of the grant.
# (e)
No nonprofit child care provider shall be eligible to receive more than fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) under this section during a single calendar year.
# (f)
The aggregate amount of funding approved pursuant to this section shall not exceed five million dollars ($5,000,000) in a calendar year.
# (g)
The amount and all terms and conditions of each grant shall be memorialized in a grant agreement between the Department of Human Resources and the nonprofit child care provider, which agreement shall include at least the following terms and conditions:
# (1)
The amount of the grant.
# (2)
The nonprofit child care provider will use the grant solely in accordance with this section.
# (3)
The nonprofit child care provider will comply with any rules adopted by the Department of Human Resources related to the grant.
# (4)
The requirement that the default of the nonprofit child care provider, under any provision of the grant agreement, shall result in the repayment of any grant monies paid to the nonprofit child care provider by the Department of Human Resources.
